Hi I'm Louise Papas and I live in Melbourne, Australia with my husband and three gorgeous daughters.

I've been sewing for most of my life but didn't discover the world of quilting until after I had my children in the mid 2000's. This coincided with the growth of the online world of craft blogging and when I realised there were other crazy fabric loving people like me out there I was hooked. I enjoyed participating in apron, bag and cushion swaps but my favourite by far were the doll quilt swaps. These allowed me to explore different techniques and design ideas and for me were like mini canvases. I also loved the challenge of designing something specifically for someone else.

Lucky for me my favourite local quilt shop was Jen Kingwell's amitie textiles and after being a very regular visitor and customer Jen eventually offered me a job. I spent nearly 10 very happy years sharing my love of fabric in the shop and eventually as a teacher in their classroom until the business moved to the regional coast of Victoria in 2017.

After sharing much of my work on my blog Lululollylegs, I was encouraged to design my own range of patterns which saw the launch of the Audrey and Maude label and then my Three Dolls label. I have also had several designs published in various quilting magazines and books. In 2016 I was invited to join the Jen Kingwell Collective where I now share my designs around the world.

I continue to love the design process and still hand draw all my designs on graph paper and have a big collection of sketch books filled with ideas. I have a love of vintage and scrappy quilts, art deco and mid century style and am still inspired by beautiful fabrics every single day. My favourite technique is needle turn applique and I am mostly a hand piecer as I love its portability, accuracy and just the calming physical process of using a needle and thread.

One of my greatest joys is sharing my love of creating patchwork by hand in my classes and I teach in several stores around Melbourne and regional Victoria.
